Sonia Norman
I became interested in Holistic therapy in 2013 when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Exploring different modalities to see what resonated and worked for me personally.
I became an AcuEnergetics Practitioner in 2015, after having therapy to help my body heal itself.
A massive part of this journey to heal was meditation, I was very resistant to begin with because I couldn’t understand how sitting still, doing nothing could be of any benefit. However, I persevered and practiced every day for 20 minutes even when I didn’t feel I had 20 minutes free.
Through journaling my meditation practice, I began to see the results, not only in my mental health but also physically.
Sound Vibrations & Healing
In 2019 I experienced my first sound from a traditional gong and was instantly drawn into their magnetic power and resonance.
I trained with the Northern School of Soundsmiths in 2020 and purchased my first gong and accompanying traditional musical instruments.
Sound vibrations and healing have been used throughout history by many cultures to maintain balance and harmony in the body.
Every cell in your body has its own harmonic frequency and when that is out of balance it may show symptoms in your body and mind.
Sound baths are a way to help your body release, reset and restore any imbalances.
Qualified Menopause Yoga Teacher
In 2021 I passed my 200hr yoga qualification, to bring the physical connection to your breath and mind. I love the connection to yourself during practice and truly believe, it is a form of physical meditation.
In 2023 I trained with Petra Coveney from Menopause Yoga and is now an accredited Menopause Yoga Teacher.
Drum Circle Facilitator
I have experienced Drum within a Sound bath and I felt the pull to my heart instantly. It was so profound I knew this was a calling I had to listen to.
So I took the leap of faith and dove deep to explore and train as a Drum Circle facilitator.
Birthing (or creating) my first drum, was emotional, draining, empowering and awesome!
Holding space for people to feel the power and connection when they play a drum is truly special (and in my opinion) to be explored by everyone at some point in their life.
These are the circle of therapies or offerings available with me, you can pick one at any time or choose a bland of all.
I love holding space for people to explore themselves, learning how they are, and what their body may need in this moment. Are you ready to explore you?
Sound bath
A Sound bath immerses you in waves of sound which I create using my gongs and other traditional instruments
It induces relaxation, meditative states, enhanced creativity and promotes general wellbeing.
Benefits of Sound baths
The Sound bath provides a space to regenerate, nourish and reset the whole being - mind & body.
The experience is deeply personal and can be different every time you attend.
A single Sound bath can calm your body & mind, reduce stress, increase focus and gain clarity. It can also decrease tension in your body and even boost your mood.
Sound baths generally last one hour.
Please ensure you bring your own blankets, mat, pillows etc (you know what you need to lie comfortably on the floor.)
Contraindications: Please let me know in advance if any of the following apply to you:
- pregnant
- have a metal implant
- pacemaker
- epilepsy
- or suffer from a sound sensitive condition
Meditation
Learn to reset your mind and restore your whole body.
Meditation isn't easy, sitting still takes practice and time.
At RestoreU we have meditation classes open to everyone.
Or if you prefer you can book a 121 meditation appointment to begin your own practice, or to fine tune your current practice.
Just begin.
Benefits of meditation
Humans have practiced meditation for millennia, and its benefits are deep and wide-ranging.
The emotional gains are well-known: stress reduction, increasing joy, and restoring calm.
The mental benefits are significant too, but lesser known: more creativity, sharper focus, greater productivity, heightened awareness, and improved listening skills.
The physical benefits are equally great: meditation has been found to influence conditions such as heart disease, high cholesterol and blood pressure, insomnia, chronic pain, and immune deficiencies.
It takes patience, time and training to master meditation on any level.
Drum Circle
A Drum Circle is a beautiful place to come together and explore the rhythm of the drum.
Enhances connection with others, the land and your heart.
Benefits of Drum circle
These are deeply personal and individual to you.
Drum circles entrain the brain to your heart and drum, allowing an expanse of healing to open within.
No experience necessary and all drums are provided, (unless you want to bring your own.)
Yoga
I believe that yoga is for everyone.
My passion is to allow you to explore movement and feel the effects within your whole being, body & mind.
Remember we practice, we don't need perfection.
Benefits of yoga
A regular yoga practice can provide a multitude of benefits.
- Increase flexibility & strength
- Allow your body to come into homeostasis
- Cultivate mental focus and clarity.
It takes practice and patience to allow yourself to just be on your mat and move as your body wants to move today, in this moment.
Allow yourself the time to explore you within your yoga practice.
